My Life

It's been a long time since I posted last. There has been so much going on in my life. I got a part-time job 2 months ago. Which means I haven't had a day off. I am so looking forward to good Friday and Easter Sunday. Time to relax, sleep and pamper myself. But I am not complaining about my job. I love it so much. It's interlinked with what I am taking in school. So I am learning alot and making alot of connections.

Speaking of school. It's going amazing. I have wicked awesome marks. I just recently won 1st place in the cut and style competition our school held. I was pretty pleased with my effort. Then 2 days after that I found out, I got voted for valedictorian for our graduation. I am so uncomfortable to talk in front of people. But this is something that I have to over come at some point in my life. Why not it be at my graduation. Not to mention the first graduation I will have since High school. Also, on April 14Th, I am going to be in a hair competition for the maritime beauty hair show. I am entering as "new talent." My model is coming in on Thursday so I can color her hair and get all the details down. I am very excited about that. It's going to allow me to be seen by my future employers and co-workers. Also, just for people to see that I am not scared to compete and am willing to be daring with color and cuts. That's pretty much all that has been going on with school.

Chris and I bought a house. We are moving on April 30Th. I am very thrilled to say that I will be a home-owner. I am already planning out the color scheme and furniture layout. I can't wait to be able to hang my art, display my collections, and allow my artistic side to come out. It's also going to be a stepping stone in our relationship. Plus, with getting the house. I am finally going to be able to get my dog. I have been searching on-line for dogs and breeders. I have also been checking out the local SPCA and Nova Scotia SPCA's.

That's all that has been occupying my life so far. Alot has been going on. And I love being so busy. Makes boring events go by alot quicker.

Kitchen Crafts

It's been a while since my last post. Been pretty busy with school, finding a job, and looking at houses. Alot of prospects in the house area. I have also been keeping up with my crafting and arts, since the last post. Made a few christmas gifts, and other things for myself.

This is a painting that I did for our dinning room. Matches with color scheme that we have going on.

Here are some gifts that I made. There are still some in the process for people's birthdays. And also for my kitchen.

These are dish towels, with the matching material sewn onto them.

Pot Holders

Mug Matts. Which release the smell of mint and nutmeg when a hot mug is placed on them.

And thats all the crafting I have done since my last post. I have made more of the oven mitts, pot holds, towels, and mug matt. All in different patterns and colours. But didn't want to take to much space with showing you all of them.

Until next time,
Keep Fit & Stay Crafting!!!

Pin Cushion Swap

I have been busy getting christmas gifts made and sewn together. Along with trying to get my pincushion swap present done. Here is what I have made and gotten to sent to my swap person.

This is the pin cushion that I made. It's made out of a pink silk material with a flower embroidered onto it.

These are the extra items that I sent along with the pin cushion. Pearl pins, candy cane hand cream.

I also made mug matts. Which as mug coasters, that when a hot mug is placed onto it. It warms up, and gives off the scent of cinnamon and nutmeg.

I also made bug pins to go with the pin cushion. Kinda keeping an earthy outdoorist feel to the whole package.

So that concludes my pincushion swap package. It's off to make christmas mug matts and other kitchen wears. Once finished sewing them all together, pictures will be posted.

New Creations

I have been pretty busy with setting up the wedding, looking at house's, sewing, baking and going to school. I have been able to get alot done since the last post. Also, I have been Halloween shopping. Got alot of cute halloween ornaments at great prices. Man, I love this time of year.

I found a cozy kitten pattern on line, to make a little childs stuffed toy. So I went to work and made my friend one for her son. I made it with plaid flannel on the front, and red flannel on the back. It kinda has a creepy face. But she knows that sort of personal touch would be added to it.Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I also bought a little boys shirt at the thrift store. So I had to add a personal touch before it was given as a gift. I added a little mouse to the pocket.Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I have also gotten a few more things from the thrift store and altered them. The first thing is a black tank top. I added beige stretch lace to the boottom.

Then I got a pink poka dot dress shrit. The sleeves were long and flowing. Kinda like a peasent top. So I cut them off and made then into short sleeves.Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I bought a pattern to try out for my wedding dress. It wasn't one that I would ever make again. It's so ugly, that I wouldn't even take a picture of myself in it. I looked like I was 8 months pregant. Not a good thing, when I don't want children.

I also made my halloween costume. I got a black tank top. I sewed on the boa around the shoulders around to the back. Then I made a red skirt to go over a short black crineline skirt. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Dress Patterns

It's been a while since I have posted. I have now started school, and it's keeping me really really busy. But on the other hand, at least I am being able to learn while staying busy. I am learning my 5th hair cut already. And it's only 5 weeks into the program. Time goes by so fast.

Speaking of time, only 10 months until my wedding. I need to buckle down and start working out the details.

I have found my wedding dress pattern. I wanted a dress similar to a swing dress, but yet something that I will be able to wear again.

So New Look Dress #6589 is the one that I have choosen. Just have to find material and lace. And the hard work is done.

I believe that the dress I am going to make is the orange one. I like how it flows. Also I am long waisted, and my waist is the largest part of me. So it will suit me very well.

I am also going to make a corset with crinalin dress to go underneath. Then it will give the dress more movement and fullness.

I am going to make the black one. Just shorten the bottom a little bit and lengthen the torso part, to fit my body shape.

Other then that, I have been doing alot of re-construction projects. All of them are still in the process. So pictures will be up in a few days, maybe even a few weeks. I have also been doing alot of Halloween shopping.

I love halloween, it's my favorite time of the year. Well, it's Halloween all year round at my house. I keep the decorations out all the time. I have also started to buy halloween hanging ornaments for my tree at Christmas time. My tree is going to be full of halloween ornaments and a skull and cross bone tree mat. (the thing that goes around the bottom of the tree)

Until next time, Stay Sewing and Have fun!!!

...Pictures Are Ready & Loaded...

I finally got the rest of my computer cables and junk from the move. Now I am able to show the few things I have been working on since getting a blog. There isn't to much, but I have gotten two things done for other blog posts.

This the a little kids apron I made for the "Tie One On" blog. I started off with a orange and white apron I made a month or so ago. Then added a white top, to give the apron a dress feel. This is the front of the apron.

This is a purse that I made for my mom. She always has big, ugly, black old-lady purses. So I wanted to give her something that was unique, pretty, but still simple. The way the material reflects the light, I am sure that it will work well with her clothing colours.

After getting a few posts on my blog. I did a little searching to see what was available and what blogs I could join. I came across The "Pincushion Challenge." So, here is my recycled pincushion.

And the last thing that I have finished is my refashion of an Old Navy tank top. It was to low to wear on its own. But yet to hot sometimes to have to layer tank tops. So I added a yoke from a top that I found at the thrift store many months ago.

Getting Settled

I just recently gotten settled into my new place. I have been able to get my computer set up. My craft stuff now has a wonderful shelve all to it's self. And I am ready to get my pictures uploaded, craft more things, and show off what I have done. There is a pile of things I need to remodel, change, or add to. Also, just found out this morning, that I have got a job at a Fabric store. It's an awesome deal, 25% off everything. And then after 3 months, it is 1/3 off everything. I am going to go crazy. Maybe I can even request to get different materials and supplies in. I guess I will have to wait for that.

Within the next week, I promise that there will be pictures of things I have crafted, altered, created, or remodeled.
